The Marlins Bullpen

It's true that the Marlins bullpen is unpredictable at best. When they're good, they're very good. When they're bad, they're very bad. Some evening out would be nice, but common' guys this is not the solution!

Damn, I missed it

Here I was thinking that the one year anniversary of Moving Targets/Year Without Baseball was May 5th.  Imagine my surprise when I checked the post history and realized that we have already missed the founding date.  So, happy belated birthday to Moving Targets/Year Without Baseball, which rolled over to 1 year on April 27th.  We've come a long way, huh?

In other news:

1.  What is a camping license?  Is it like camp training?  Because,  I went to camp training this weekend.  It's run by our Council, and is required for all troop leaders who wish to take their Scouts camping.  Like every other Council sponsored training, it was a bit of a snooze fest for me.  I just can't bring myself to get excited about hearing a bunch of 35+ year old ladies discuss their children.  However, I was well behaved and didn't even say anything snotty when they told us to pitch a tent, and everyone jumped up and down with glee because they'd never done it before.

The best thing to come out of proving that I can pitch a tent and start charcoal, is that I may have an actual official audience for "Send Her On Her Way".  One of the trainers (you know, the one who wasn't 450 pounds and could stand for more than 5 minutes), asked me if I wanted to be a trainer.  Naturally, I replied in a very controlled, collected way, "Ohhh! Yeah! that sounds FUN!".  The next morning, when I was leaving, she asked me to send her some sample training plans and programs.  How cool is that?

So, all in all I had a good weekend, I ate some campfire food, sang some songs, and mostly enjoyed my time with the other leaders--when they weren't alienating me by saying things like "Oh, well you're all mothers, you can understand"
