Winter, For real.

I know I've been saying "Winter is Coming" since June. But this time I really really really mean it, and I promise never to say it again.

The winter vols are here, the autumn vols are gone. So far, they seem like a really fun group. They haven't even asked how to turn the TV on yet.

They just spent 45 minutes organizing the toiletries cupboard. It's 11 at night. Isn't that precious? The closet was mostly full of pads and very small bars of soap. And shower caps.

We're now trying to find a use for the 45,000 individual sanitary napkins that seem to have been donated in 1946 and are about 8 inches thick. I think Jen should use them as first aid supplies, since whole limb amputations seem to be quite frequent here at the Chalet.

We've decided that all the hotel sized bars of soap will be given out as gifts at the annual Chalet Neighbors' Christmas party. Swell! "Thanks for coming to the Chalet, don't forget to pick up your gift basket, 'Soaps of the World', on your way out!"

Oh! Breaking News!!! They've just blown a fuse upstairs and are now wandering around wondering why the lights are off. This is why Jen, Maj and I are all staying in Stöckli to keep them company for the first few nights. I'm sure they couldn't get along without us (ok, that's a bold lie, they are all good scouts, I'm sure).

We're only saying here because Madge moved out to Boden with Ben ! (yes! Ben), and Sarah is off on a mysterious vacation, so there were no Senior staff onsite at all.
